Tension has gripped residents of Kaduna as kidnappers demand a staggering N300 million ransom for four abducted children.
The children were taken from their home in Keke A, Chikun Local Government Area, under the Kaduna Millennium City.
The desperate father of the children, identified as Adamu, revealed the chilling details to Daily Trust on Thursday.
“They Threatened to Kill My Baby” — Father Pleads for Help
Adamu, speaking through tears, disclosed that the kidnappers made a terrifying threat.
“They said they would kill my youngest child because he was crying,” he said.
The father’s voice broke as he recounted how he could hear the children being beaten over the phone.
“When I pleaded with them to reduce the ransom, they started beating my children,” he added.
He described the experience as a nightmare and called on Nigerians to pray for his family.
“I need prayers. I can’t afford the ransom,” he lamented.
Family Devastated as Mother Cares for Sick Twins
The abduction happened on Tuesday night while Adamu was visiting his wife at a hospital.
She was taking care of their sick twins, who had been admitted earlier that day.
Adamu returned home to find his children missing.
The attackers had stormed the house and whisked the children away without raising an alarm.
Kidnappers’ Cruel Demands Spark Outrage
The demand for N300 million has left the family and community in shock.
The amount is far beyond what the family can afford.
“The kidnappers know we don’t have that kind of money,” a family member said.
Residents in the area expressed fear and anger over the growing insecurity in Kaduna.
“Every day, we live in fear,” one resident lamented.
Another added, “These criminals have no conscience. How can they threaten to kill innocent children?”
Community Calls for Urgent Action
The kidnapping has sparked calls for urgent intervention by security agencies.
Community leaders are pleading with the government to act swiftly and rescue the children.
“We need more security presence in our area,” a local chief said.
He added that the government must do more to protect citizens from bandits.
Insecurity Plagues Kaduna Residents
Kidnapping for ransom has become a grim reality in Kaduna State.
Communities in Chikun LGA have suffered frequent attacks by armed gangs.
The situation has left many families living in constant fear.
“We can’t sleep at night,” another resident said. “We are always on edge.”
Despite efforts by security forces, bandits continue to terrorize vulnerable communities.
Government Under Pressure to Act
Pressure is mounting on the Kaduna State government to address the rising insecurity.
Many residents are calling for more proactive measures to combat kidnappings.
A local activist said, “We are tired of empty promises. We need action now.”
He urged the government to deploy more troops and strengthen community policing efforts.
Religious Leaders Offer Prayers and Support
Religious leaders in the area have also called for prayers and calm.
A pastor in the community encouraged residents to trust in God.
“We are praying for the safe return of the children,” he said.
A local imam added, “This is a time for unity. We must stand together and support the family.”
Residents Fear for Their Safety
The incident has left many parents worried about their children’s safety.
“I’m scared to let my kids out of my sight,” one mother said.
Another parent added, “We need the government to protect us. No one is safe anymore.”

Security agencies have assured the public that they are working to rescue the children.
A spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command said efforts were underway to track down the kidnappers.
