Zainab Ado-Bayero, the daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, has once again appealed for help, revealing the dire circumstances she and her family have been facing since her father’s passing.
In a heartfelt video shared with The Guardian, Zainab, visibly distressed, disclosed that she has been stranded in Lagos without any support or resources. She explained that she had been trying to find assistance near Eko Hotel since morning but was left without hope or shelter.
“I’m outside the streets of Lagos, nowhere to go, stranded. I don’t know anyone. I’m a few meters away from Eko hotel, and we have nowhere to go,” Zainab said, her voice filled with despair. “Since morning, we’ve been trying to get somebody to help us, but no one cares.”
She lamented that her late father, who had been a prominent figure, left her with no education, no home, and no support, making survival a daily struggle. Zainab expressed feelings of abandonment, stating that she had been left “with nothing,” and described how the situation had turned her into a hopeless woman with no means of support.
The emotional strain is compounded by the responsibility she bears for her mother and younger brother, leaving her physically and emotionally drained.
“I don’t want to keep doing this. I’m exhausted, emotionally, physically. I don’t know what to do or who to turn to,” Zainab added. “I’ve pleaded with the president, the governor, and even the current Emir Sanusi to help, but it’s clear that no one cares about my survival.”
The Kano State government had previously given Zainab’s family N6 million after a report by The Guardian highlighted their plight, but that assistance has since been exhausted.
Zainab’s emotional plea has captured the attention of many, as she continues to struggle for a way out of her situation, caught between desperation and a sense of abandonment.
