Over one month after suspected bandits kidnapped the former director general, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maharazu Tsiga, the Nigeria Police Force said investigations still ongoing regarding the abduction.
Tsiga, a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, was abducted on February 6, 2025 and has remained in capitivity for over 37 days.
Speaking to newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Katsina state, Abubakar Sadiq, stated that the command was making serious efforts to ensure Tsiga’s safe release.
He stated that officers of the command have been actively pursuing leads and are working tirelessly to track down the perpetrators.
“We are on a serious investigation that will lead to his release. As soon as we get any information regarding his whereabouts or his release, we will update the public,” the PPRO assured.
The police further confirmed that Tsiga remains in captivity, and every resource was being deployed to secure his freedom.
The command urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing any useful information.
