Nigeria’s Super Falcons to Face Portugal, Ghana in June

Nigeria’s senior women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, will play two international friendly matches this June as part of their preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), through the official handle of the team, announced that the Falcons will take on Portugal and Ghana in two warm-up games.

Although the exact dates and venues were not disclosed in the initial announcement, the matches are expected to help the team fine-tune tactics and assess player performance ahead of the continental tournament.

WAFCON 2024, officially known as #TotalEnergiesWAFCON2024, will feature top women’s teams across Africa and serve as a qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons, who are nine-time African champions, will be looking to reclaim the title after losing it to South Africa in the last edition.
