Kano State residents gathered on Saturday at the Umar Bin Khattab Mosque for a special rain-seeking prayer to ask for relief from the prolonged lack of rainfall.

The prayer was organized by the council of Ulama and led by Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil. A large crowd came together, hoping for spiritual help to bring much-needed rain to the region.

After the prayer, Sheikh Khalil encouraged people to increase their acts of worship to attract Allah’s mercy and blessings, which he said are important for prosperity.

Kano has seen sporadic and inadequate rainfall even though the rainy season is well underway. This has raised worries among farmers, who fear that poor rains may affect crop yields and the overall harvest for the year.
