The Adamawa State Government has confirmed that the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been hacked.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, who advised the public to disregard any posts or messages coming from the compromised account.
“Unfortunately, the account has been compromised by hackers, and any content posted from it does not represent the views or statements of the Governor or his representatives,” Wonosikou stated.
He added that efforts are ongoing to recover the account and restore its integrity.
The Governor, according to the statement, regrets any confusion or embarrassment the hacking might have caused and urged citizens to rely only on verified communication channels for official information from his office.
The incident highlights growing concerns over cybersecurity, especially as government officials and institutions continue to face online threats and data breaches.
