Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has opened up about the moments leading to his son’s death. In a new interview with social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, also known as VeryDarkMan, Aloba revealed disturbing details that have raised further questions abaout the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
According to him, on the 12th of September 2023, he received a call around 4:30 p.m. from Mohbad’s mother informing him that the singer was unwell and hospitalized. Mr. Aloba said he quickly arranged to meet her so they could visit their son together.
However, on getting to Osapa London, where Mohbad was believed to be, Aloba was told by the singer’s uncle, Darosha, that Mohbad was feeling better and there was no need for him to stay. The sudden shift in tone made him uneasy.
“I was already sensing my son was dead because of how the story changed,” he said. “One moment they were calling me about his condition, then the next moment they told me he was okay and I should go home.”
Aloba also recounted that when they later went to the house, he was blocked at the entrance and had to identify himself before being allowed through the crowd. Upon entering the familiar room where he usually met with Mohbad, he said he noticed a duvet soaked in blood.
Further raising suspicion, Aloba revealed he was denied access to the police report after giving his statement. He claimed the excuse given was that he had not reported the death early enough. He also alleged that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at home without his consent and that a morgue refused to accept the body that same night.
He added that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, reportedly had the doctor’s report but did not speak about it.
This latest revelation from the late singer’s father comes as fans and the public continue to demand full transparency and justice in the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.
