Niger Delta Will Back Tinubu in 2027 – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that the people of the Niger Delta are ready to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027, citing key developmental projects in the region under the current administration.

Akpabio made the statement during the grand finale of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) 25th anniversary celebration held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, over the weekend.

He said the Niger Delta has witnessed increased attention and development since Tinubu assumed office in 2023, and that the people will unite in appreciation of his efforts.

“Our region will speak with one voice in 2027. We are grateful for the ongoing projects and renewed commitment to the development of the Niger Delta,” Akpabio said.

The event was well-attended by key national figures, including former President Goodluck Jonathan; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume (who represented President Tinubu); the Administrator of Rivers State, Admiral Ibokette Ibas; federal lawmakers, ministers, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders from the Niger Delta.
