A special meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will be held today, Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. The meeting will take place at the Council Chambers in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This is part of the national mourning activities approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the death of the former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Before the FEC meeting, a third-day prayer will be held at Buhari’s residence in Daura, Katsina State. Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead a Federal Government delegation, including Cabinet Ministers, to the prayer session.
The special FEC session will be expanded to include members of the National Assembly, the Judiciary, and representatives of Buhari’s family.
Further tributes will take place in Abuja, with a special Muslim prayer at the National Mosque on Friday, July 18, and a Christian service on Sunday, July 20.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away recently, and the Federal Government has organized these events to honour his legacy and service to the country.
