The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dismissed viral messages claiming that it has started recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), describing them as fake and misleading.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the NAF has not commenced any recruitment exercise and urged Nigerians to disregard such messages.
He stated that the advertisement being circulated is the work of fraudsters trying to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
“The NAF wishes to remind the general public that its recruitment and enlistment processes are completely free, transparent, and based on merit,” Ejodame said.
He emphasized that the NAF does not charge any fee at any point during its recruitment process and does not work with third parties or agents.
Ejodame noted that when the Nigerian Air Force begins recruitment, it will be officially announced in major newspapers, on the NAF website, and through its verified social media platforms.
He warned Nigerians to be cautious and not to fall victim to online scams or unofficial recruitment adverts, advising everyone to always verify information from NAF’s official communication channels.
This warning comes at a time when many Nigerians, especially youths, are actively seeking job opportunities in the country’s armed forces.
