Omisore Confident of Winning APC Ticket for Osun 2026

Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has declared his strong belief that he will win the party’s ticket for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Omisore made the declaration on Tuesday in Osogbo while addressing party members and supporters. He said over 90 per cent of APC members in the state are backing his ambition and are ready to deliver him as the party’s candidate when the primaries hold between November 24 and December 15, 2025.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Osun governorship election for August 8, 2026, and political activities are gradually gaining momentum.

Omisore, who represented Osun East Senatorial District in the Senate from 2003 to 2011, said the level of support he is receiving from within the party shows clear readiness for victory.

“Going forward, I am expecting Osun State people to vote for APC en masse come August 8, 2026,” he said.

He added that the gathering in Osogbo was a clear sign that the APC remains strong in the state and is united ahead of the crucial governorship race.

“This is to show the preparedness of the core APC members in the state, to show how ready we are to ensure that I become the party candidate by God’s grace in December,” Omisore said.

He described the ongoing mobilisation as internal party politics aimed at preparing members ahead of the primary election.

“These are volunteers from the nook and cranny of the state. This is just within the party and not yet the general public,” he added.

Omisore also expressed confidence that the APC would return to power in Osun in 2026, stating that the party’s chances are “100 per cent.”

The former senator’s declaration comes amid growing interest from various political figures ahead of the 2026 race, which is expected to be keenly contested.

The current governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won the 2022 election and will be seeking re-election unless otherwise decided by his party.
