The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Prof. Daniel Olukoya, has released his prophecies for the year 2026, describing it as a “fast, strange, and mysterious” year that will demand intense prayers and spiritual alertness.

Prof. Olukoya made the declarations during the church’s crossover night service held on Thursday night, where members gathered to pray and welcome the New Year. The service, which ushered worshippers into 2026, was tagged “A Mysterious Year.”

Addressing the congregation, the cleric urged Nigerians and Christians around the world to be spiritually vigilant in the new year. He warned that 2026 would come with unusual events, both positive and negative, depending on an individual’s spiritual standing and commitment to prayer.

According to him, the year would move very fast and carry over many trends from 2025, while also introducing new and unexpected developments.

“2026 is a fast, strange, and troublesome year,” he declared, adding that the issues and patterns witnessed in 2025 would continue to flow into the new year.

He explained that people would need wisdom, prayer, and spiritual focus to navigate the year successfully, as delays and carelessness could have serious consequences.

Despite the warnings, the MFM leader said the year would also bring good news for those who live upright lives.

“It is going to be a year filled with good surprises for the righteous,” he said.

He further declared that many believers would experience what he described as “strange and mysterious lifting,” suggesting sudden positive changes and elevation that may not follow normal patterns.

Prof. Olukoya described 2026 as a year of divine recompense, where actions would attract clear rewards or consequences.

He said God would turn over what he called “the table of evil traders within churches,” indicating that wrongdoing and exploitation within religious spaces would be exposed and judged.

According to him, heaven would also strongly support evangelism in 2026, leading to the rise of committed evangelists and renewed efforts to spread the Christian faith.

“This is a year heaven will encompass strong evangelists for evangelism to thrive,” he said.

The cleric noted that the hand of God would be strongly felt in many nations, adding that countries that uphold righteousness would experience peace and stability.

“Nations that practice righteousness shall be well,” he said, warning that those who ignore moral values would face confusion.

A major theme of Prof. Olukoya’s message was the importance of prayer. He repeatedly warned that 2026 would be difficult for people who do not pray.

“This year will be a year of big trouble for the prayerless,” he said.

He also described 2026 as a tragic year for traitors, disloyal individuals, and unfaithful married people, urging people to live honest and disciplined lives.

The cleric warned that spiritual procrastination would be dangerous in the new year, advising believers not to delay obedience or spiritual responsibilities.

“Spiritual procrastination is very dangerous this year,” he cautioned.

Prof. Olukoya called for united and intensive intercession in 2026, saying the year would require collective prayers against strange happenings, fire, and explosives.

He also warned of renewed efforts by what he described as the “kingdom of darkness” to recruit children, urging parents, religious leaders, and communities to be watchful and prayerful.

“This year needs a lot of prayers,” he said. “There will be renewed strategies of darkness, and we must not sleep.”

He advised believers to separate themselves from evil associations, saying that distancing from negative influences would bring benefits in 2026.

“It is a year that separation from evil association will yield dividends,” he said.

Despite the strong warnings, Prof. Olukoya ended his prophecies on a hopeful note. He declared that people who remain committed to prayer would experience restoration.

“All past losses for those who can pray shall be mysteriously and bountifully restored,” he said.

He also stated that God would move through nations, families, and churches in 2026, both to reward faithfulness and to judge wrongdoing.

According to him, the year would clearly separate those who take their spiritual lives seriously from those who do not.

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries is one of Nigeria’s well-known prayer-focused churches, with branches across the country and in several parts of the world. The church is known for its strong importance on deliverance, spiritual warfare  and prayer.

Prof. Daniel Olukoya, a scientist-turned-cleric, has led the ministry for decades and is respected by his followers for his teachings on prayer and holiness. His New Year prophecies, like those of other prominent Nigerian pastors, often attract wide attention among church members and the general public.

In Nigeria, crossover night services have become an important religious tradition, with many Christians choosing to welcome the New Year in prayer rather than celebration. Messages shared during such services often shape expectations and conversations in the early days of the year.

Many worshippers who attended the service described the message as serious and sobering. Some said the prophecies reminded them of the need to be spiritually prepared and morally upright in the new year.

As 2026 begins, Prof. Olukoya’s message has added to the mix of hope, caution, and reflection shaping how many Nigerians are approaching the year.
