    She’s A Hero: Nigerians Hail Corper Who Begged Mob Not To Destroy MTN Office

    An unidentified female member of the National Youth Service Corps who begged an angry mob that wanted to vandalise a branch of telecoms giant, MTN, has been hailed as a hero.

    The incident which happened at the Idi Ape, Ibadan office of MTN was captured in a video published on TikTok by Okalaguy on Monday.

     A crowd of irate MTN customers gathered at the telecom giant’s office, their frustration boiling over into violence.

    The source of their anger: MTN had cut off subscribers who had failed to link their SIM cards with their National Identification Numbers (NIN).

    In response, the crowd turned their fury on the office, hurling stones that shattered glass and attempting to dismantle the gate.

    Inside, employees huddled in fear, their safety compromised by the growing tempest outside.

    Amidst the chaos, an unidentified young woman clad in the distinctive NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) uniform stepped into the fray.

    As the crowd continued to pelt the building with stones and chants of anger filled the air, the NYSC member took a bold stance.

    With determination, she knelt down before the protesters, pleading with them to cease their destruction.

    She implored the mob to stop their assault on the office and its workers.

    The reaction from the crowd was mixed. Some voices demanded that she move aside, while others continued to urge for more stones to be thrown.

    Yet, the young woman remained steadfast, her act of bravery standing in stark contrast to the surrounding chaos.
