Bobrisky Released After 4 Months: ‘Don’t Spray Money O, Otherwise You Become Landlord in Kirikiri’

Nigerian social media celebrity Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Center after serving over four months in prison.

The controversial crossdresser was seen departing from the facility on Monday morning, August 5, 2024.

Bobrisky’s release was confirmed through a video posted by his friend, Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, on Instagram.

Her post, captioned “Finally, O.U.TTTTT… BOBRISKYYYY fine die,” was met with a comment from Bobrisky himself, saying, “I love you.”

In the footage, Bobrisky, dressed in a female wig and red lipstick, danced to music playing in the background, a spectacle characteristic of his vibrant online persona.

Bobrisky’s imprisonment began on April 12, 2024, following a sentencing by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos High Court.

The court found Bobrisky guilty of abusing the naira, which led to a six-month prison term without the option of a fine.

The judge’s ruling specified that the sentence began on March 24, the day of Bobrisky’s arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
