Xavier Fogah, a popular Jamaican TikToker known as ‘Niah Gang,’ was shot and killed during a TikTok livestream on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old, whose entertaining videos earned him over 200,000 followers, was participating in a TikTok match with another user when tragedy struck.

The incident occurred on Panton Lane in St Catherine, leaving the online community in disbelief.

Fogah, known for his freestyle lyrics and engaging clashes with fellow TikTokers, was exchanging banter with a co-host about “badness” and their ability to harm each other.

Fogah also attempted to escape, but gunshots rang out moments later.

His lifeless body was later discovered off-camera, while the man with him reportedly got away unharmed.

Deputy Superintendent Michael Campbell of the St Catherine South Police Division confirmed Fogah’s death on Sunday.

He described the murder as a mystery, stating that no motive had been established as of midday.

“We are currently visiting the community, speaking with family members, and trying to gather information,” Campbell said.

The senior officer also noted that Fogah was not known to the police as a violence producer.

There were no reports of gang feuds or conflicts in the area before the shooting, he added.

Police have since increased their presence in the community to prevent further incidents.

Fogah’s friends, speaking near the spot where he died, expressed shock and sorrow.

They dismissed the idea that his online activity led to his death, suggesting instead that jealousy may have been a factor.

“This is more bad mind than anything else,” said one friend, using Jamaican slang for envy.

They revealed that Fogah had recently purchased a BMW and often supported people in the community financially.

Before finding fame on TikTok, he had sold egg and plantain sandwiches to make a living.

The tragedy has left Fogah’s four-year-old daughter without a father.

Videos circulating online show fans and community members mourning the loss of the young influencer.

Many expressed disbelief, recalling his upbeat personality and plans for the future.

One fan commented, “This can’t be real all now mi can’t believe bro mi feel it fam me a tell you.”

Another remembered a chilling moment during a previous livestream, where a pastor prayed for Fogah and warned him of betrayal by friends.

The warning now feels eerily prophetic to many of his fans.

Fogah’s death has sparked renewed fears about safety for social media influencers, especially in Jamaica.

He is the second TikToker to be killed during a livestream in recent months.

In September, Keauno Watson, a University of the West Indies student, was also gunned down while live on TikTok.

Other prominent influencers, including Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend and Nigel ‘Big Meech’ Walford, have also been victims of violence in the past year.

Fogah’s rise to popularity was rooted in his freestyle lyrics and charismatic personality.

He often clashed with other TikTokers in controversial matches that kept audiences entertained.

Despite his tough online persona, his friends described him as kind-hearted and generous.

He had shared plans of becoming wealthy by 2025, a dream now tragically cut short.

The killing has left a void in the TikTok community, with fans, friends, and family struggling to make sense of the incident.

Deputy Superintendent Campbell assured the public that investigations are ongoing.

He urged anyone with information to come forward and assist the police.
