The recent reports alleging that David Shikfu Parradang, the retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, was kidnapped and later killed have raised alarm among Nigerians. However, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has clarified the facts surrounding his death, calling on the public and media outlets to avoid spreading unverified information.

David Parradang was a prominent figure in Nigerian immigration, and his untimely death on March 3, 2025, has left many shocked. What initially began as a series of alarming reports on social media quickly turned into a major news story, with claims that the former Immigration boss had been kidnapped and murdered. However, the FCT Police, in an official statement, have corrected the story, providing a clear timeline of events and urging the public to refrain from spreading baseless rumours.

According to the FCT Police Command, David Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, located at Area 3 Junction in Abuja, at around 12:00 PM on March 3, 2025. He was seen driving a black Mercedes Benz, and upon checking in, he paid N22,000 for a one-night stay. After settling in, Parradang directed the hotel staff to escort a female guest to his room. This lady left the hotel around 04:00 PM on the same day.

However, after the lady departed, Parradang did not leave his room. Concerned for his wellbeing, a close friend of Parradang, a military officer, arrived at the hotel around 04:00 AM on March 4, 2025. The officer, who had not heard from Parradang for several hours, went to check on him at the hotel. Upon reaching his room with the hotel receptionist, the officer discovered Parradang seated in a chair, already deceased.

The discovery of his body raised further concerns and prompted the hotel to immediately contact the Durumi Police Station. Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after, secured the area, and took all necessary steps to preserve the crime scene’s integrity. The body was later transferred to the National Hospital in Abuja for further procedures.
