It is with profound sadness that we report the passing of renowned Nigerian gospel artiste, Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, affectionately known as Big Bolaji or “Big B”. He died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, following a brief illness. According to an official statement from his family, he collapsed during a performance on the evening of April 18 and passed away the following day.
Big Bolaji was a multifaceted individual—a certified Estate Surveyor and a full-time music minister. He was an ordained pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), serving the ministry for over 19 years. He was also the visionary behind the “Turn It Up with Big B” radio program, which featured gospel music, interviews, and inspirational content. His musical journey began in his youth, influenced by his mother, Rev. Mrs. Sola Olanrewaju, and he drew inspiration from gospel legends like Panam Percy Paul and Toun Soetan
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, Big Bolaji was a beloved figure in the gospel music scene. He is survived by his wife, Tolulope, and their two children. The family has expressed deep sorrow over the loss and has requested privacy during this time of mourning.
Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course as the family prepares to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
