    Vigilante Kills Delta Poly Student During Study

    A tragic incident occurred in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, as a 29-year-old student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Peter Eyorowalebo, was allegedly shot dead by a vigilante member, Ike Peter.

    According to the Delta State Police Command, the student was in his room reading and preparing for an upcoming examination when the vigilante member stormed the house and allegedly shot him.

    The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that the Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect.

    “Today, Wednesday, April 30, the DPO Ogwashi-Uku received a distress call that the suspect shot and killed the victim in his room. The DPO swiftly moved to the scene, where the student was found in a pool of blood. He was taken to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival,” the statement read.

    The suspect, Ike Peter, has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation on the orders of the Police Commissioner.
