The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has appointed Alhaji Munir Sanusi Bayero as the new Galadiman Kano, along with four other prominent leaders. The new appointees include Alhaji Kabir Tijjani Hashim, District Head of Nassarawa, as Wamban Kano; Alhaji Mahmud Ado Bayero, District Head of Gwale, as Turakin Kano; Adam Lamido Sanusi as Tafidan Kano; and Alhaji Ahmad Abbas Sanusi as Yariman Kano.
The turbaning ceremony, which took place at the Emir’s Palace in Kano on Friday, was attended by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, members of the state executive council, traditional and religious leaders, and other well-wishers.
During the ceremony, Emir Sanusi urged the new titleholders to be exemplary leaders and serve the people with humility, compassion, and commitment. He emphasized that the appointees were selected based on their contributions to society, loyalty to the emirate, and support for the less fortunate.
The event marked a significant moment in the leadership of Kano, with traditional values and responsibilities highlighted as essential for the continued progress of the emirate.
