Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has strongly denied accusations from the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, that he orchestrated an assault during a student inauguration event in Abuja.
Isah had accused Seyi of sending thugs to attack attendees at the Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro, claiming the assailants were armed with cutlasses and firearms. The NANS President also alleged that the attackers stabbed attendees, looted property, and caused dignitaries, including Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and former Governor Idris Wada, to flee. He linked the incident to a politically motivated attack and suggested that a bribe offer was made to silence his leadership.
In a strong rebuttal posted on his official Instagram, Seyi Tinubu called the claims baseless and defamatory. “I have never met Comrade Isah, nor have I ever visited any location with thugs,” Seyi said, expressing disbelief at the accusations. He further stated, “These allegations are completely fictional.”
Seyi’s response has garnered support from his followers, who are calling for an official investigation to clear up the matter. As of now, no formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident.
