    Reps Call Benue, Zamfara Governors to Answer Alleged Mismanagement

    The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has summoned the Governors of Benue and Zamfara states, along with the leadership of their respective Houses of Assembly, to appear before the committee on Thursday, May 8. The meeting will address a petition calling for the takeover of their functions by the House of Representatives.

    The petition, filed by the civil rights group Guardians of Democracy and Rule of Law, accuses the two states of mismanagement. The committee’s chairman, Mike Etaba, emphasized that the invited officials have a chance to defend their actions before the committee.

    The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has ordered the Governors and Assembly leaders of Benue and Zamfara to explain why the House should not assume control over their functions. The move follows a petition that claims there is mismanagement in both states.
