The Lagos State Government has announced the postponement of the planned traffic diversion for repair works on the Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi. He said a new date for the start of the repairs and the accompanying traffic diversion would be communicated soon.
Earlier, the bridge work had been scheduled to begin on May 13 and continue until September 23. However, the state government decided to reschedule to ensure better planning and reduce inconvenience for road users.
“The state government remains committed to ensuring public safety and minimal disruption during infrastructure upgrades,” Osiyemi said.
He also thanked residents for their patience and understanding, urging continued cooperation once the new dates are announced.
The Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge is a key route linking parts of mainland Lagos to the Third Mainland Bridge and other major corridors, making traffic planning during repairs crucial.
