    Police Bust Kidnap Gang in Anambra, Arrest Four

    The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a kidnap and armed robbery gang during a raid on their hideout in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area.

    Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He said the operatives from the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu acted on credible intelligence to storm the location.

    The suspects, aged between 19 and 28, include three men—Chigozie Udolisa (alias T. Dollars), Anaolu Joseph (alias Blue), and Chukwuka Udolisa (alias Uduakomiri)—and a woman, Chinaza Udemezue. All four have confessed to being involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and car snatching.

    During the operation, police recovered three vehicles believed to be stolen: a black Lexus GS 350 (ENU 561 LY), an ash Toyota Camry (UWN 614 HK), and a navy blue Toyota Corolla (UMZ 135 AD). Other items found include an HP laptop, a car spraying machine, motor wires, and substances suspected to be methamphetamine.

    According to the police, the female suspect revealed that her boyfriend, who is also a member of the gang, escaped with their weapons when he saw the police approaching.

    SP Ikenga said the suspects are being interrogated to help locate other gang members still at large. The police vowed to continue efforts to clamp down on criminal syndicates operating in the state.
