Lamido Predicts APC Collapse, Says PDP Will Reclaim Power

    Share

Former Foreign Affairs Minister and PDP chieftain, Sule Lamido, has predicted an imminent split within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and others may soon defect back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Lamido made the remarks at the PDP congress in Jigawa, held at the Aminu Kano Triangle. He said the APC was built on conflicting ideologies and cannot hold together much longer.

“I’m confident that all those who left the PDP will return, including Ganduje,” Lamido said. “Within six months, the APC will burst into factions, and the PDP will return with full strength to take over in 2027.”

He encouraged PDP members to remain strong and not lose hope due to recent defections, which he said were motivated by fear of persecution rather than principle.

His comments come amid growing criticism of the APC over its handling of internal party affairs and a rising number of opposition politicians crossing over to the ruling party.
