    Rival Cult Clash in Osogbo Leaves One Dead

    One person was killed during a violent clash between rival cult groups in the Oke Ola area of Osogbo, Osun State, on Sunday evening, the police have confirmed.

    DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the Osun Police Command spokesperson, said the incident was brought under control after police quickly intervened. “It was the police team that went to the scene of the incident that restored normalcy in the area,” he said on Monday.

    According to the police, the clash happened around 7:00 p.m. when suspected members of one cult group, who were part of a masquerade procession, entered the territory of a rival cult group. Tensions escalated into a gun battle, resulting in one cult member being shot in the head and dying instantly.

    Ojelabi said the police are currently tracking down the suspects and assured that those responsible would face the full weight of the law once arrested.

    He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any illegal or suspicious activities to the police.
