The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced that it will begin distributing petrol (PMS) and diesel to marketers and other bulk users across Nigeria from August 15, 2025.
This move is expected to improve fuel availability across the country, reduce fuel costs, and make petrol more accessible, especially in remote and underserved areas.
The Dangote Refinery, located in Lekki, Lagos, is the largest single-train refinery in the world, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is part of a wider effort to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel.
To support this nationwide distribution, the company has purchased 4,000 brand-new CNG-powered tankers to deliver fuel directly to petrol stations, factories, telecom companies, and other major users. It is also setting up over 100 CNG stations across the country to improve logistics and reduce fuel transportation costs.
In addition, a special credit offer will be available to large buyers. Any customer who buys at least 500,000 litres of fuel can get an extra 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, with a valid bank guarantee. This will benefit manufacturers, aviation companies, and other major fuel users.
According to the company, this new distribution plan will help cut logistics costs, promote cleaner energy use, support small businesses, and boost the country’s economy.
The initiative supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to stabilize fuel supply, lower inflation, and improve living conditions. The government’s backing, especially through the Naira-for-Crude scheme, has helped the refinery plan better during times of global fuel price changes.
The Dangote Refinery is inviting fuel marketers, petrol station owners, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to register and complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification between June 16 and August 15, 2025.
For more information, interested parties can call or email the refinery’s sales team.
This marks a major step forward for Nigeria’s fuel industry and is expected to bring relief to both businesses and everyday Nigerians.
