Iran Hangs Man for Spying for Israel

    Share

Iran has executed a man identified as Ismail Fikri on charges of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.

According to Iran’s state-linked Fars News Agency, Fikri was arrested in December and executed on Monday morning after being found guilty of passing sensitive information to two suspected Mossad agents.

Iranian authorities said Fikri was caught in possession of intelligence materials, which he allegedly sent to Israeli operatives. Details of the information he provided were not made public.

This is the third execution in recent weeks involving accusations of spying for Israel, amid rising tensions between the two countries. The Iranian government has stepped up its crackdown on what it calls foreign sabotage and intelligence threats, especially those linked to Mossad.

Iran and Israel have a long history of hostilities, with both countries accusing each other of espionage, cyberattacks, and targeted killings.
