Israel Kills Newly Appointed Iranian Army Chief

    Share

The Israeli military has confirmed it killed Major General Ali Shadmani, one of Iran’s top army commanders, in a targeted operation. Shadmani had only been appointed two days earlier as the new head of the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian General Staff.

His appointment followed the death of his predecessor, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, who was also killed in an Israeli airstrike last Friday in Tehran, Iran’s capital. Both commanders were trusted military leaders under Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This latest strike highlights the rising tension between Israel and Iran, as Israel continues to target senior Iranian military figures it accuses of planning attacks against Israeli interests.

The Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters is a critical command post in Iran’s armed forces, responsible for overseeing military operations and coordination. With the back-to-back loss of two top generals, Iran’s military leadership is under serious pressure.

Israel has not revealed where the latest strike on Shadmani took place, but military experts say it shows how deeply Israel has penetrated Iran’s security network.
