Kebbi State has mourned 30 people killed in recent attacks by bandits in the Zuru area. Local government chairmen from Zuru and Danko Wasagu, Muhammad Gajere and Hussaini Bena, confirmed the deaths, with 16 killed in Tadurga and 14 in Kyebu and Yar-Kuka villages in the Waje District. Many others were injured during the violent raids.

The bandits also stole livestock and valuables from the affected communities. The state’s Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, visited Tadurga on Friday to offer condolences on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris and the government.

Senator Tafida assured residents that the government is working hard to improve security and plans to block all entry routes to the attacked areas to prevent future incidents. He also prayed for the victims and their families, asking for strength in their time of grief.

The Chief of Dabai, Alhaji Suleman Dabai, praised the government’s quick response and credited Governor Idris’ leadership for recent improvements in security across the state.

To support the victims, Senator Tafida announced a donation of N50 million, split equally between Tadurga and Kyebu communities. He described this as a small but important step to help families affected by the attacks.
