Popular Nigerian singer, Spyro, has called out the government over the rising hardship in the country during a live performance attended by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

The performance took place during a public event where top government officials were present. While on stage, Spyro paused his show to speak directly to the leaders and other guests in the audience.

“Make dem do better for us,” he said in Pidgin English. “Things no easy for this country.”

The singer’s statement drew reactions from the crowd, as he voiced what many Nigerians are currently experiencing — high cost of living, joblessness, and insecurity.

Spyro’s remarks reflect growing frustration among young Nigerians who continue to bear the brunt of the economic challenges in the country. Many people have taken to social media to support his boldness, saying it is time for celebrities to speak out more openly.
