The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Ali Bukar Dalori as its new acting National Chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, stepped down from the role on Thursday. His resignation was confirmed in a statement on Friday night by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka. According to the party, Ganduje left the position to focus on “urgent and important personal matters.”

Ali Dalori, who was serving as the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), has now been asked to immediately assume the role in acting capacity. He will serve until the National Executive Committee (NEC) meets in December to decide on a substantive chairman.

Ganduje became APC chairman in August 2023 after the resignation of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu. During his time in office, he worked to promote unity within the party and led several high-profile defections from opposition parties.

In his resignation letter, submitted through the National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, Ganduje thanked President Bola Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to lead the party. He also expressed pride in the achievements recorded under his leadership.
