Brazil national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has declared late Brazilian football legend, Pele, as the greatest player of all time, ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking in a recent interview with CONMEBOL, the experienced Italian coach said Pele’s achievements, especially his World Cup wins, set him apart from every other footballer in history.
“I can’t say definitively because Pele belongs to a different generation,” Ancelotti said. “But what Pele achieved in his career, especially the World Cups, was something truly special.”
Ancelotti, who has coached many top players including Ronaldo during his time at Real Madrid, admitted that both Messi and Ronaldo are outstanding, but believes Pele deserves the number one spot based on his legacy.
Pele, who won three FIFA World Cups (1958, 1962, and 1970), remains a global icon in football history and is often cited in the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate.
