    Police Nab Suspects Over LCCN Cathedral Battery Theft

    The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two young men for allegedly stealing a generator battery from a church in Jimeta, the capital of Yola.

    The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Dad Yusuf and 17-year-old Gibson Husseini, were picked up by officers attached to the State Intelligence Department. Both suspects are residents of Upper Luggere in Yola North Local Government Area.

    According to police spokesperson, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the suspects confessed to stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the LCCN Cathedral in Jimeta on the night of June 23, 2025.

    They were arrested on Saturday, June 28, following credible intelligence.

    Nguroje said investigations are ongoing to track down other possible accomplices and recover more stolen property.

    He added that the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are complete. The police assured the public of their commitment to fighting theft and protecting places of worship across the state.
