The burial ceremony of the late businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been rescheduled to Tuesday in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
This was announced by the Minister of Information, Muhammad Idris, who explained that the delay was due to the late arrival of Dantata’s body in Medina.
Speaking to BBC Hausa, the Minister said Saudi Arabia has strict rules and procedures for receiving bodies from other countries. The authorities are currently working to meet these requirements before the burial can take place.
He assured that all necessary legal processes will be completed by Tuesday, and the burial will happen the same day.
Meanwhile, the Governors of Kano and Jigawa states, along with the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and former Jigawa Governor Ali Saad Birnin Kudu, have already arrived in Medina to attend the funeral.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a respected businessman and philanthropist whose death has been deeply mourned across Nigeria.
