Popular Nigerian rapper, Jude Abaga, also known as M.I, has expressed regret for supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 general elections.

Speaking on the Menism podcast, the award-winning rapper explained that he backed APC at the time because he believed the then-ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was corrupt. However, he now admits that the APC has failed to live up to the ideals he hoped for.

“Yes, I supported APC because at that time, I felt that the PDP government was very corrupt,” M.I said. “I was part of those who raised their voices to call for change and support democracy.”

The rapper acknowledged that like any human being, he could make mistakes. “APC, unfortunately, isn’t the APC of my dreams,” he added.

M.I, known for his socially conscious lyrics, said he now wants to focus on using his platform to work with Nigerian youths to build a better country.
