Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspects over alleged involvement in cultism and vehicle vandalism in Lagos.

According to a statement posted on the RRS Facebook page on Tuesday, one suspect was caught last Wednesday night around 10 p.m. in Oshodi. The suspect was found carrying a locally made pistol and two live bullets, following intelligence gathered by the squad.

In a separate incident on Saturday at about 4 a.m., two men identified as 25-year-old Kazeem Oyebola and 35-year-old Olamilekan Babalola were arrested near Otedola Bridge. They were caught loading six Ford Escape tyres, rims, and other vehicle parts into a Suzuki minibus with registration number LSD 736 YK. The parts were reportedly stolen from vehicles parked at a nearby mechanic workshop. Two other suspects escaped and are currently being hunted by the police.

Mechanics at the workshop confirmed the missing items and were relieved when the RRS recovered them. CSP Shola Jejeloye, the RRS Commander, assured the public of continued efforts to arrest all suspects and revealed that those arrested are cooperating with investigators.

The Lagos Police have reiterated their commitment to curbing cultism and criminal activities in the state.
