President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Nigerian military to take decisive action against terrorists, bandits, separatists, and all criminal elements threatening the peace and unity of the country.
Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day celebration in Kaduna, Tinubu said the time to crush those behind killings and insecurity across the nation is now.
“The Nigerian Army must rise to the occasion. The time to crush the criminals is now,” Tinubu declared.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of military personnel and promised continued investment in modern equipment, intelligence, and training to boost their effectiveness.
He reminded the armed forces to operate with professionalism, discipline, and honour, in line with the constitution and international standards.
Tinubu paid tribute to the Nigerian Army’s legacy, recalling its historic role in ending the civil war and promoting peace both at home and abroad through various international peacekeeping missions.
“We honour those who have paid the supreme price and those who still wear the uniform, standing guard over our democracy,” he said.
The Nigerian Army Day celebration highlighted the courage and sacrifice of soldiers fighting to protect Nigeria’s sovereignty amid rising insecurity in parts of the country.
