Nigerian singer and performer, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has said he is the only certified musician in the Okoye family, despite being part of the famous defunct music duo, P-Square, with his twin brother, Paul.
Speaking at the recent AY Live comedy show, Mr P said he holds a music certificate and can’t be regarded as “talentless” as some fans have claimed in the past. He performed live, singing, dancing, and playing the guitar and piano to prove his talent.
According to him, fans played a major role in the breakup of P-Square by constantly comparing him and his brother.
“I have sang and danced but they told you I am talentless. I will prove myself today,” he said.
Mr P added, “The reason P-Square split was because fans said one was more talented than the other, and it got into his head. In the whole of the Okoye family, I’m the only one with a music certificate. I read music.”
He said despite the criticism, he remains proud of his journey and talents, stressing that it is not easy to sing, dance, and play instruments live.
