President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, have met with members of the British royal family during what officials described as a “historic” state visit to the United Kingdom. The visit marks an important step in strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and the UK.
The Nigerian leader and his wife were received at Buckingham Palace, where they held discussions with King Charles III and other senior royals. Historically, Nigeria gained independence from Britain in 1960, but the relationship has remained strong through membership in the Commonwealth. During the visit, Tinubu is also expected to meet with British government officials and business leaders to discuss investment opportunities in sectors such as energy, technology, and infrastructure.
