    Food Poisoning Tragedy Kills Four in Katsina

    A heartbreaking case of suspected food poisoning has claimed the lives of four people in Kaga Hassan Quarters, located in the Magama Jibia area of Katsina State. Among the victims are three children and an adult, who all died after eating a meal believed to be contaminated.

    According to security sources, the deceased have been identified as Hussaina Ayuba, Ahmed Ayuba, and Nana Ayuba. They reportedly fell ill after consuming spaghetti noodles and died while receiving treatment at the Jibia General Hospital. A fourth victim, 12-year-old Hafsat Ayuba, is currently being treated and is said to be responding to care.

    The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old woman, Fatima Abdulkadir, who allegedly cooked the spaghetti. Two other individuals have also been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Police say they are working to determine whether the poisoning was accidental or intentional.

    Security personnel visited the scene shortly after the incident, and the bodies of the deceased were released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic customs.

    The community of Magama Jibia has been left in shock and sorrow, with residents calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragedy. While the exact cause of the poisoning is yet to be confirmed, local authorities are not ruling out foul play.
