The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Danladi Isa, has directed all officers under the command to provide quick medical attention to sick suspects and to avoid detaining suspects for more than 24 hours in bailable cases.
CP Danladi gave the orders during the monthly conference of the Abia State Police Command, attended by Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and other senior officers.
He emphasized the need for professionalism and warned officers to stay clear of corruption. “Senior officers will be held responsible for any misconduct by their subordinates,” he said, urging strict supervision.
The police chief also ordered a ban on Point of Sale (PoS) machines within police stations, stressing that officers must focus on securing police bases, protecting government properties, and collaborating with local government leaders and the public to fight crime effectively.
In the meeting, CP Danladi praised officers for their hard work and reminded them that their duties come with great responsibility.
He also commended the Public Relations Officer of the Abia Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, for receiving an award from the Inspector General of Police and successfully completing a training course on New Media Capacity Building in China.
This new directive aims to improve police conduct and ensure better treatment of suspects while strengthening community safety across Abia State.
