Rasheedat Ajibade was named Woman of the Match following Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Botswana at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Thursday night.

The Super Falcons sealed a hard-fought victory with a late goal from substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo, who scored in the 90th minute after a brilliant assist from Esther Okoronkwo.

Ajibade, who started the game as a winger, was moved to midfield in the second half and played a vital role in controlling the tempo of the game. Her strong performance throughout the match earned her the top individual honour.

The 25-year-old stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes and impressed with her passing, movement, and leadership.
