A 35-year-old housewife, Sarah Gideon, was on Thursday arraigned before a Kaduna Magistrate Court for allegedly attempting to steal a goat from a residence in the Karji area of the state.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of theft, was said to have untied the goat from where it was tied in front of one Martins Bobai’s house and tried to escape with it.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Luka, the incident occurred on Tuesday while the accused was working on a nearby farm in the Narayi area.

“She was caught by a neighbour who saw her pulling the goat away and raised an alarm, leading to her immediate arrest,” Luka told the court.
