Two brothers were shot dead by suspected terrorists on Wednesday along the Kirbiri–Buni Yadi Road in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Local sources said the victims, identified as 40-year-old Goni Bukar and 35-year-old Modu Dangal, were riding bicycles from their village, Kirbiri, to Buni Yadi when they were ambushed and killed at close range.

Residents believe the attackers may be former Boko Haram fighters who claim to have repented but are still operating in the area.

The bodies of the victims were taken to the Yobe State Specialist Hospital in Buni Yadi, where they were confirmed dead on arrival. They were later handed over to their family and buried according to Islamic rites.
