The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that it will release the results of the 2025 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today, Monday, August 4.
According to WAEC, a total of 1,973,253 students from 23,554 approved secondary schools sat for the school examination.
Dr. Amos Dangut, WAEC’s Head of National Office, will officially announce the release of the results at a press briefing at the council’s headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.
The results are expected to boost the chances of thousands of candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Many of the candidates wrote the exams under the “awaiting result” status and need the outcome to complete their admission processes. Some institutions have already begun post-UTME screenings.
Dr. Dangut noted that the results would be released within the council’s usual timeframe of 45 days after the last paper.
He also revealed that WAEC would issue certificates to schools within 90 days after result release. Additionally, candidates will be able to access their digital certificates via the council’s online platform.
WAEC has urged candidates to check the official result portal on Monday using their examination details.
