I Survived Because I’m Destined to Be Governor – Ezenwafor

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Jude Ezenwafor, has said that surviving an assassination attempt is proof that he is destined to lead the state.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News Thursday night, Ezenwafor recounted how he was attacked by suspected assassins in Abuja last month. He said the gunmen fired several bullets at him, but he miraculously survived the incident.

“They rained bullets all over my body, but I am bouncing back,” he said, adding that the experience was deeply traumatic.

Ezenwafor, who now moves around with a walking stick and limps due to injuries from the attack, said Thursday was the first time he had been able to wear trousers since the incident.

When asked how he reacted to false rumours of his death, the PDP candidate said the experience taught him a valuable life lesson — that death can come at any time, but he believes his survival shows that he still has a purpose to fulfill.
