The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested four people, including a woman, in connection with the murder of a young man who was allegedly lured by his girlfriend into a deadly trap.

The incident occurred on October 4, 2025, in Gidan Kacha, Gada Local Government Area, according to a statement on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Rufa’i.

The victim, Ali Salisu of Darnawa village, reportedly went to visit his girlfriend, Rukayya Amadu, unaware that she had allegedly conspired with another man, Hamisu Ibrahim, to orchestrate his killing.

Investigations by the police revealed that Rukayya and Hamisu led Salisu to Dabagi bush, where Hamisu allegedly strangled him with a rope and stole his red Kasea motorcycle.

The stolen motorcycle was later taken to Sokoto, where two other suspects, Lawali Abdullahi and Ibrahim Abdullahi, allegedly received it without verifying ownership.
