The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has released his prophecies for the year 2026, expressing hope for reduced hunger, more economic opportunities, and fewer global conflicts.
Pastor Adeboye made the declarations while preaching at the annual Cross Over Service held at the RCCG camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a programme that draws millions of worshippers from across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
The New Year prophecies, which covered general issues, Nigeria, and the international community, were received with loud prayers and celebrations by members of the church, many of whom see the yearly message as a guide for faith and expectations in the coming year.
According to Pastor Adeboye, 2026 will be a more remarkable year than 2025. He said the spiritual and physical events that began unfolding in 2024 would not only continue but become stronger in the new year.
“The wind that has been blowing since 2024 will continue to blow more strongly than before,” the cleric said, explaining that the year would bring faster changes, both positive and challenging, depending on how individuals and nations respond.
He assured worshippers that 2026 would bring more opportunities, breakthroughs, successes, and victories than the previous year. He added that failure would reduce for those who remained focused, prayerful, and obedient.
One of the key highlights of the prophecy was Pastor Adeboye’s declaration that many testimonies in 2026 would begin with the words, “God remembered me at last.” According to him, long-standing struggles would finally come to an end for many people.
Speaking specifically about Nigeria, Pastor Adeboye predicted a reduction in hunger across the country in 2026. This prophecy comes at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with the rising cost of food, inflation, and economic hardship.
Over the past few years, food prices have increased sharply due to factors such as insecurity in farming areas, high transportation costs, and economic reforms. Many households have found it difficult to afford basic meals.
Pastor Adeboye’s message of reduced hunger was therefore received with excitement by worshippers, who prayed for relief and better living conditions in the new year.
He also declared that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would begin to blossom in Nigeria in 2026. According to him, small businesses would experience growth, stability, and increased support.
Small and medium businesses play a major role in Nigeria’s economy, providing jobs and income for millions of people. However, many have struggled in recent years due to high operating costs, poor access to loans, and unstable power supply.
The cleric’s prophecy offers hope that the sector will experience improvement, allowing entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and employ more Nigerians.
Another major prophecy that attracted attention was Pastor Adeboye’s declaration of a “reversed Japa.” In recent years, the word Japa has been used to describe the increasing number of Nigerians leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad.
Economic hardship, insecurity, and unemployment have driven many young professionals to relocate to countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
However, Pastor Adeboye said 2026 would witness a reversal of this trend, with many Nigerians who left the country returning home.
“Many people who left Nigeria will come back home,” he declared.
This prophecy suggests renewed hope in Nigeria’s economy and living conditions, as well as improved opportunities that could attract skilled Nigerians back to the country.
On the international scene, Pastor Adeboye said the chances of a major global war in 2026 would be lower than in 2025. This declaration comes amid ongoing conflicts and tensions in different parts of the world, which have raised fears of wider global instability.
In recent years, wars, regional conflicts, and political tensions have affected global trade, energy prices, and food supply, with developing countries like Nigeria feeling the effects.
The cleric’s message offered reassurance that the world may experience relative peace compared to the previous year.
On weather conditions, Pastor Adeboye said global weather patterns in 2026 would be similar to those of 2025. However, he warned that there could be a chance of a few major hurricanes.
This warning aligns with growing global concerns about climate change, extreme weather events, flooding, and natural disasters, which have affected many countries in recent years.
Pastor Adeboye has, for decades, released New Year prophecies during RCCG’s Cross Over Service, a tradition followed by millions of Christians in Nigeria and abroad.
His prophecies often cover personal life, national issues, and global events. While some Nigerians view the messages as faith-based guidance, others see them as moral encouragement during uncertain times.
The RCCG camp, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, has become a major religious centre, hosting large gatherings during major church programmes. Security agencies and emergency services are usually deployed during the Cross Over Service due to the large crowd.
Many worshippers described the 2026 prophecies as timely, especially the predictions about reduced hunger, business growth, and returning Nigerians.
“I am trusting God that this year will truly be better,” said a trader who attended the service. “The prophecy about small businesses gives me hope.”
As Nigeria and the world step into 2026, Pastor Adeboye’s message has added to the expectations of many citizens who are hoping for economic relief, peace, and personal breakthroughs.
