The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has released the deployment list for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II for prospective corps members posted to Niger and Sokoto states.
The scheme announced this in a statement posted on its verified X handle on Sunday, urging affected prospective corps members to print their call-up letters and prepare for the orientation exercise.
The NYSC said the deployment for the two states had been released and that those posted to Niger and Sokoto had been enabled to print their call-up letters.
“2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Deployment has been released for Niger and Sokoto States.
“Prospective corps members posted to these states have been enabled to print their Call-Up Letters,” the statement said.
The development followed an earlier extension of the commencement date of the orientation course for the two states.
The NYSC had postponed the start of the orientation exercise because of ongoing renovation works at the orientation camps in Niger and Sokoto states.
Following the adjustment, the orientation course is now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The swearing-in ceremony for the corps members is expected to take place on Friday, August 14, while the closing ceremony has been fixed for Tuesday, September 1.
The scheme said the extension of the orientation programme was necessary because renovation work was still ongoing at the orientation camps being prepared for the corps members.
The NYSC urged prospective corps members posted to the two states to take note of the revised dates and make adequate preparations for the exercise.
It also advised them to plan their journeys carefully and avoid travelling at night.
The warning is part of the NYSC’s regular safety advice to prospective corps members, particularly those travelling long distances to their assigned orientation camps.
The orientation course is the first major stage of the NYSC programme for graduates after their deployment. It provides an opportunity for corps members from different parts of the country to meet and undergo training before proceeding to their places of primary assignment.
