A 35-year-old woman, Mrs. Adeola Adewale, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police for allegedly poisoning a 65-year-old man, Mr. Adebayo, to death in a service apartment in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos.

According to the police, Adeola and Mr. Adebayo rented the apartment together on March 27, 2025. However, later that day, Adeola left the apartment with Mr. Adebayo’s car and personal belongings, telling the housekeeper she would return shortly. When the housekeeper checked the apartment the next day, they discovered Mr. Adebayo’s lifeless body. Investigators found an empty syringe, two empty cans of malt drink, and two bottles of water at the scene.

After a detailed investigation, police traced Adeola to the Oko-Oba area, where she was arrested on April 26, 2025. During interrogation, she confessed to poisoning Mr. Adebayo by lacing his malt drink with a toxic substance, leading to his death.

The police have confirmed the victim’s identity as Mr. Adebayo, aged 65, and investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the crime. The suspect is currently in custody as the Lagos State Police Command continues to follow up on the case.

The Lagos Police Commissioner, CP Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, assured residents that the command is committed to their safety and will ensure that anyone involved in criminal activities is brought to justice.
